Simply put. I. Love. Comedy. Always have. Stand-up, Sketch, TV, Film, Tiktok, classics, ALL of it. I love watching, teaching and doing it. Selfishly, I love making myself laugh;) That’s not my fault, I love to laugh, too. But being funny is so much more than being funny. Acting in Comedy is being honest in rhythm. And when you’re honest and use technique, the material sings. For 25 yrs I’ve been on every kind of comedy set and for 15 yrs I’ve taught it. There are so many tools and insights that, when married to your instincts, bring out deeply funny moments. And that’s what I love. Cause it makes me laugh. And we already know, I love to laugh. For 8 weeks we will work only on comedic material. Dig into character, genre and musicality and help you find honest rhythm in your acting. It’s gonna be hilarious.
About Eric:
A graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the British American Drama Academy, Eric began his acting career in the Emmy winning comedy Malcolm in the Middle and followed with the cult horror movie classic Jeepers Creeper 2. With a 20+ year career touching all genres Eric had appeared in everything from Shakespeare to Sit-Com. He can been seen in gritty dramas such as HBO’s GenerationKill, off-the-wall comedies like Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer and critically acclaimed sit-coms like, One Day at a Time, produced by television icon, Norman Lear. His television credits include Mad Men, Criminal Minds, The Rookie, The Flash, Disney’s Kickin It, The Politician and Blackish. As well as Netflix’s True Story with Kevin Hart and HBO’s Winning Time. A teacher and audition coach for over 15 years, including 10 years at the premiere acting studio in Los Angeles, Lesly Kahn & Company, he brings his passion for acting to his students in the studio and takes theirs back on set with him. He lives in St. Louis, MO and has two grown a** children;)
